The Trussville Fire Department is involved in several different aspects of the fire service. One of those is being able to respond with the proper equipment to a wildland fire or brush fire. Wildland firefighting is completely different than structural firefighting. The Trussville Fire Department has several of it members crossed trained in both wildland and structural. The fire department also has some of its members that have been deployed with Alabama Forestry Commission to assist other states in need.
The Trussville Fire Department currently has a 1995 Ford E-One F-Series fire truck sole dedicated to Brush Fires. It has a 750 gallon tank with a 1000gal portable tank with it as well. We also have a 6X4 John Deer Gator with a 50 gallon tank and pump for those hard to reach areas.
