Trussville Fire & Rescue
Child Passenger Safety Education and Installation
The Trussville Fire Department is a NHTSA Standardized Child Passenger
Safety Education and Installation Site. The purpose of this service is to
make sure that we help parent’s select appropriate child restraints and
teach them to secure children in vehicle restraint systems according to
child passenger safety best practice guidelines. Teaching others how to
install child restraints in their vehicles according to safety guidelines
and serve as a resource for our community and most of all to keep our
children safe.

This past year Liberty Mutual Insurance has partnered with the fire
department to help Child Passenger Car Seat recertification’s for our fire
department personnel as part of our Child Passenger Safety Seat Installation
Program. Children’s Hospital,
Safe Kids Alabama, & the National Traffic Safety Board at Jefferson State
Community College have also partnered this year by providing scholarships
for car seat certification classes taught in Trussville and also donating
car seats which we give away to people in need at our Car Seat Check
Stations located at all our Fire Stations 24 hours a day.
